Consigning: How to Tag
- All clothing must be on hangers (Do not use wire hangers)
- Price Items: Minimum price: $1.00 with $0.50 increments.
- Red Tags are to be used for the items you do not want returned, they will be donated to charity
- Only use a blue or black ball point pen (no felt tips please) to fill out your tags
- Attach a tag to ALL items. Do not attach the tag to the hanger! Loop the string of the tags securely through top/shirt/dress manufacturer’s tag (if applicable). OR Pin tags (safety pins only) to clothing on the top right-hand corner when you’re looking at it. A tagging gun may also be used.
- Do not pin clothing to the hanger (you can pin two piece items together, but not to the hanger)
- All clothes must be on hangers when possible – See below for the exception. (Items on hanger sell better) “Hang the item so the hanger forms a question mark “?” when you look at it”.
- Pin top and bottom set together to ensure they do not get separated.
- Attach tags to toys and other non-clothing items with masking tape or clear packing tape (do not use heavy duty packing tape).
- Attach tag to the TOP of the bag by staple or tape (Tag must be intact. Cashiers will tear off the bottom half at the time of the sale.)
- Pin or bag items together if you want to sell them as one unit. Items bagged in resealable bags (i.e. Ziploc) should be stapled shut to prevent shoplifting or item switching.
- Items that require batteries must have batteries so the customer can be sure the item works. Check that all game/puzzle pieces are included.
- ONLY bring infant/children’s clothing (infant thru Juniors size 7 and Boys 18/20), toys (indoor &outdoor), books, equipment and accessories, or maternity/nursing clothes and accessories.
- Tie shoes, boots, skates, etc. together.
- Place socks, booties, Velcro or crib shoes in resealable bags & staple. Only items in bags will be placed on tables (e.g. socks, bibs, onesies…
Filling Out the Tag

- No. – This is the consignor # you have been assigned – (001 is just an example)
- Style -A two-word description of the item (i.e. boy’s pants, girl’s top, socks, truck, book, stroller).
- Size – Indicate size or approximate stage (i.e. preemie, newborn, infant, toddler), if applicable.
- Price – Price for which you want the item to sell.
- Fill out same as top half
- The minium price for any item is $1.00 with .50 increments ONLY (i.e. 1.00, 1.50, 2.50, etc.).
- Price items competitively or they are unlikely to sell. Refer to the Suggested Price Guide.
- Do not use the $ sign when filling out the price (it can make the price of an item unclear)

- Attach to tag to the clothing and not to the hanger
- Do not use straight pins (please use safety pins)
- Be sure that your prices are legible, if the price is unclear; it will be determined be the cashier and recorded on the tag for payment.
